Word Visualization (1 comment)
Chris Harrison rendered a lot of word visualizations and published them on his web page: http://www.chrisharrison.net/projects/visualization.html.
Here is an example of word spectrum:

Determination of national well-being in Songs and Blogs (2 comments)
"As for popular music, the University of Vermont researchers found that within each genre, the emotional charge of lyrics remained stable between 1960 and 2007. But the overall trend was downward, as metal came of age in the 1970s, punk in the 1980s, and later hip-hop, each exploring darker themes more explicitly than their predecessors in the 1960s." - BENEDICT CAREY

Google Squared (1 comment)
This weekend, I have been spending my time for trying Google Squared. Google Squared works the same as Google Search with a simple query text box but now we can enter the query as a class of entities, e.g. "digital camera" (http://www.google.com/squared/search?q=digital+cameras&suggest=3) or "Information retrieval book" (http://www.google.com/squared/search?q=Information+Retrieval+book). Google Squared amazingly does entity extraction, classification and clustering to return properties of "digital camera" such as "name of camera", "manufacturer", "resolution", etc. The search result will be shown in spreadsheet using AJAX therefore you can add or remove columns as you want.
You may try Google Squared at http://www.google.com/squared/

Sentiment & Affect in Text Group
Link: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/SentimentAI/
"This group is designed for all those interested in the automatic identification, extraction and understanding of SENTIMENT, OPINIONS and AFFECT in text, as well as for those interested in its generation". I did join this group. There are useful information and a lot of members such as Bing Liu, Lillian Lee, Fabrizio Sebastiani...who have been working on this area for a long time.
You may join the group, post your question or share your knowledge with researchers around the world.
